If you’ve been typing “brainspotting therapist near me” into Google, chances are you’re looking for something different. Maybe you’ve already tried traditional therapy and made some progress, but deep down, you know there’s more healing to do. Something feels stuck. And you’re tired of dancing around the same issues, hoping the next session will finally shift things.
I see you! I work with people just like you. People who are insightful, motivated, and maybe a little burnt out on the slow and steady pace of weekly therapy. That’s where Brainspotting and Brainspotting intensives come in.
Brainspotting is a mind-body approach to healing that goes beyond talk therapy. It uses the field of vision to access parts of the brain where trauma, pain, and stuck emotions live. Often beneath our conscious awareness. Where traditional therapy focuses on thought and logic (hello, prefrontal cortex), Brainspotting taps into the subcortical brain, where our survival responses and emotional memories are stored. This is where lasting change happens!
And when we combine that with an intensive format, the results can be profound!
Why “Near Me” Matters
Searching for a brainspotting therapist near you makes sense. Working with someone who knows your region, understands your community, and can offer either in-person or virtual support feels safer and more accessible. Plus, licensing matters. Therapists need to be licensed in the state where their clients live, so a local search increases the chances you’ll find someone who’s legally able to help.
In my practice, Brainspotting intensives are one of the only times I offer in-person work. But we don’t meet in an office. Instead, I meet you where healing is most likely to unfold: your home. This allows you to settle into your space, your rhythm, and yourself. There’s something really special about healing in a space that already holds your energy. It brings an intimacy and authenticity often more organically than in an office setting.
Another option many people have opted for is traveling to the states I’m licensed in and settling into an Airbnb. They make their own healing retreat out of their intensive allow for a space that someone else has cultivated for them that takes care of each other their needs while also allow them to find ease.
Virtual sessions are also perfect for brainspotting as they allow for easy access to the powerful tool of brainspotting with you having to do any traveling or make room for me to enter your space.
What Makes Brainspotting Intensives So Effective
Traditional therapy sessions are usually 45-60 minutes, and if we’re honest, a good chunk of that time is spent settling in and winding down. When we work in a Brainspotting intensive, we carve out three-hour blocks of focused time that allow us to go deeper without constantly restarting the process.
You get more time to drop in, process, reflect, and move through what’s coming up. And because we’re not rushing, there’s more space for breakthroughs, for softness, and for real shifts to happen.
This format is especially helpful for those who’ve hit walls in weekly therapy or who feel like they’re constantly circling the same few topics without getting resolution. I’ve seen clients who were stuck for years have major breakthroughs in a single intensive. Not because they weren’t trying before, but because the conditions finally supported the kind of deep work they needed.
Who Benefits from Brainspotting Intensives?

I often work with people navigating anxiety, panic attacks, driving anxiety, imposter syndrome, or the kind of burnout that makes you wonder if something’s just fundamentally wrong with you (spoiler alert: it’s not). Brainspotting intensives are ideal for anyone who’s feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like they’ve done all the right things and still don’t feel okay.
They’re also great for people who don’t have time for weekly therapy or who want concentrated support during a transition, crisis, or healing window.
This isn’t just another therapy session. You are getting ready to start a mental health retreat that’s tailored just for you! Your needs, energy and goals.
What to Expect from an Intensive
Before your intensive, we’ll meet for an intake session to talk about what you’re hoping to work on and map out a general plan. Then, depending on what’s best for you, we’ll schedule your intensive in a way that makes sense for your body, your schedule, and your nervous system.
Some prefer one full day with two three-hour blocks, morning and afternoon, with a break in between. Others opt for two or three half-days spaced out over a weekend. We’ll figure it out together.
During your session, we’ll usually start with some gentle grounding. Then we move into Brainspotting, with natural breaks to support integration. These breaks might include stretching, movement, a snack, or just a quiet moment to catch your breath. After the main processing work, we’ll spend time integrating—sometimes with words, sometimes through art or movement, or just through stillness and reflection.
Because I’m also a yoga instructor, I often bring in simple movement or mindfulness practices, especially if that helps you feel more embodied or supported. But if that’s not your thing, that’s totally okay too. This work is deeply collaborative. We create the container together.

After the Intensive: Integration and Celebration
Two weeks after your intensive, we’ll meet again for a debrief session. This is more than just a check in. It’s a moment to pause, notice what’s shifted, and celebrate how far you’ve come.
So many of us struggle to see our own progress. We’re wired to notice what’s wrong more than what’s right. This follow-up session helps you name and anchor the growth you’ve experienced, and we’ll also talk about how to keep that momentum going. Whether that’s more Brainspotting, a return to weekly therapy, or just continuing with the tools you’ve gained, you’ll have a clear path forward.
